Principal's Message

Welcome to Hamlin Middle School!

KnightWelcome to Hamlin Middle School. I am Dr. Suzanne Knight, the proud Principal of Hamlin Middle - Home of the Coyotes! My vision for Hamlin is trifold: to provide a safe learning environment for all students; to ensure that students are provided with rigorous standards-based academics that allows for the highest level of academic achievement: from regular middle school course work through high school level courses and enrichment opportunities through electives, athletics, clubs, and organizations; and to ensure we are an extension and reflection of our community to lead our students to success.

Hamlin offers a variety of enrichment opportunities through the elective classes. Electives include: Agricultural Science, Business Ed, Computer Technology, Spanish, TV Production, and Visual and Performing Arts classes.

Visual and Performing Arts is an integral part of electives offered at Hamlin. Students can choose from any of the five strands: Art, Band, Chorus, Orchestra and Theater. Research shows that “visual and performing arts foster lifelong learning skills such as creativity, collaboration, communication, critical thinking, and problem solving.” All students who attend Hamlin will have the opportunity to experience a visual and/or performing arts class.

Athletics: We offer soccer, volleyball, basketball, track & field. Each sport runs the length of nine weeks allowing students to be involved in multiple sports.

Clubs and organizations are other enrichment opportunities that students can be involved with while attending Hamlin. Hamlin is proud to partner with The Boys and Girls Club After School Program. The Boys and Girls Club serves as an extension of the community. Students who choose to participate will be able to choose from a variety of activities from academics to extracurricular that supports student growth academically and socially.

With the support of families and the community, we create enriching and diverse pathways to lead our students to success.

Dr. Knight,
Proud Principal, Hamlin Middle School
